What is Seniors Go Digital?
|
Answer:
· The Seniors Go Digital programme seeks to inspire seniors to widen their horizons through digital adoption, and empower seniors with the digital skills to do so. Through the programme, MCI/ IMDA intends to address the skills and affordability challenges that prevent seniors from embracing digital, while shifting mindsets by generating enthusiasm about digitally enabled lifestyles. · In the short term, digital adoption enables seniors to comply with COVID19 public health directives such as the use of contact tracing apps, and replace in-person activities with online ones. In the long term, beyond the COVID-19 period, it also contributes to building a resilient and inclusive society, by enabling seniors to connected with family members and friends, and continue accessing essential social services such as befriending and tele-health. · The programme brings together government, community, industry and family in an SGTogether effort to support our seniors on their digital adoption journeys. · There are three key facets to the programme: o Scaling up and accelerating digital literacy for seniors. Efforts to drive digital literacy will focus on practical learning outcomes for seniors that support their everyday needs, such as keeping in touch with their family and friends through video calls, scanning QR codes or using SingPass Mobile for Safe Entry and engaging in e-payments at hawkers and wet markets). o Providing additional support for needy seniors who aspire to go digital, but lack the financial means to do so. This addresses the affordability gap for those who have overcome the mindset and are willing to pick up digital skills, but are deterred from digital adoption because they cannot afford it. o Driving a nationwide Seniors Go Digital movement. This will be done through a comms and engagement campaign encouraging all senior to take action to on-board to digital, with the support of their families, friends and community. This will be complemented by efforts with industry and community partners under the SG Together umbrella.

Do I need to apply for an Arts Entertainment Licence if I were to stream a theatre performance using an online platform? Do I need to submit the content to IMDA for classification?
|
Answer:
You do not need to obtain an Arts Entertainment Licence or submit the content of the performance to IMDA for classification as the performance is intended to be streamed online only and not to a public place for exhibition. Such AE content placed online should comply with the Internet Code of Practice (ICOP). However, you are advised to ensure that there is information available on the nature of the AE content to guide parents and that there are appropriate safeguards to prevent the young from being exposed to unsuitable content. This includes reflecting the classification and consumer advice prominently for performances that have been classified by IMDA. For those that have not been classified, you may refer to the Arts Entertainment Classification Code (AECC) for guidelines on arts entertainment content.
