The posting process is based on PSLE score, school choices and vacancies at the selected schools.
Students with better PSLE scores will be considered first for vacancies in their chosen school. If there are no more vacancies, the students will be considered for their next choice school(s).
In situations of students having the same PSLE score, Singapore Citizens have priority over Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students. Between students with the same citizenship, a tie is resolved by computerised balloting with an equal chance for each student.
For 2019 S1 Posting, the order in which a student lists their schools does not give them priority when deciding who will get a place in the school. For example, John and Mary, who are both Singapore Citizens, have the same PSLE score, are vying for the last place in School A. Although John placed School A as his first choice, he does not have priority for posting over Mary, who placed School A as her third choice.
